ABOUT

Growing up as most musicians in the church, Michael gravitated towards the stage and the music and loveliness that it brought to the congregation. At the age of 8 he was asked to play drums for the youth choir after asking the praise and worship leaders for lessons.

His first love was the loud crash and claps of the drums. He saw how it moved and swayed the crowd with peculiar rhythms of gospel music. Soon he was on to learning rhythm guitar and playing for choirs in the DMV region. He loved singing and acting as well but playing within the rhythm section was his staple. After hearing the thump and slap of the bass guitar... He never looked back.

Michael went on to study music at Norfolk State University in Virginia and Atlanta Institute of Music where he earned his degree in Music in Media and Strings. Learning to read, compose and play by ear it has allowed him to play on cruise lines, opening for acts for Sony BMI, local touring on the eastern region of the USA.

Some of his inspirations are Abraham Leboriel, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Fred Hammond and Les Claypool. His relationship with God has kept him grounded and loyal to his gift. As the bible says 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Blessed with these talents he knows that it's a blessing to have the talent of music to share with you and the world.
